Please put June 7th on your calendar and plan to attend a fundraising event to raise money to help support Meadow Lane teacher, Brittney Rogers, whose son is fighting a rare brain condition called Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia. Meadow Lane Elementary is a supporter of the Buzz and of course we always support our teachers and the children of Wayne County! See the calendar on page 2 for more information.
Wayne County’s Relay for Life held another super event in May. Hundreds of thousands of dollars was raised to help find a cure for cancer while much of the money stays in Wayne County to support our cancer survivors and their families. Thousands of people attended RFL making it once again one of the largest in the country! Your support does not stop there. Donations are accepted throughout the year.

Father’s Day is June 15th. Take time out to celebrate your Dad and reflect on everything he has done for you and means to you!
I don’t know about you but summer is way overdue for me. With that said, I could live with average temperatures of 75 to 80 degrees every day of the year. After one of the coldest winters on record here in Eastern North Carolina I guess anything would be better than what we had from December through mid-March. I’m sure come August I’ll be complaining about the hot temperatures, hoping for winter and watching the Hurricane maps closely. Let summer begin!
